Human Hygiene and Medical Waste

Environmental Protection Act 1990 Duty of Care also applies to Medical and human hygiene waste.

If your establishment produces waste, you have a duty to achieve the following four points.

  • To prevent any other persons committing the offences of depositing, disposing of or recovering controlled waste without a waste management license.
  • Waste that is transferred only goes to authorised persons
  • When waste is transferred, correct documentation accompanies the waste.
  • To prevent escape of waste (contain it)

Blitz Hygiene Services is a registered waste carrier and we comply fully to Section 34 of the Duty of Care.

All waste that is transferred from your premises is taken directly for incineration.

Clinical Waste

All clinical waste has the potential to be classed as hazardous waste and therefore subject to additional to certain legal requirements
